AIM James E Layt

Young Manager of the Year Award

The Australian Institute of Management would like to extend its thanks to all of the managers who submitted applications for the AIM James E Layt Award. The quality and quantity of talented young Australian managers was both reassuring and exciting for the future of Australian business.

After an extensive assessment period, AIM is proud to announce that Matthew Varley is the winner of the inaugural AIM James E. Layt Young Manager of the Year Award. Matthew is a member of the Australian Federal Police, and a Superintendent of the crime prevention portfolio in ACT Policing.

Superintendent Varley has been recognised for his efforts in developing a new strategic portfolio for 2007-10 and also the implementation with a new agency-wide community-policing platform.
