Awards and Scholarships

As part of its role as the peak professional body for management in Australia, AIM believes in inspiring and supporting its Members and the wider management community in their efforts to achieve academic, leadership and service excellence.

The AIM Young Manager of the Year 2008 James E Layt Award and the Rebecca Gregory Indigenous Scholarship are two of the many award programs AIM NSW & ACT has created to both celebrate and encourage excellence in management practice.

About the Award

Launched in 2007, the AIM Young Manager of the Year 2008 James E Layt Award is named after the former Chairman of AIM NSW & ACT, Mr James E Layt, AM, FAIM and the recognises his contribution to the advancement of management practice in Australia.

The Rebecca Gregory Scholarship

The other is the AIM Rebecca Gregory Scholarship, our annual training scholarship to inspire and enhance the skills of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander managers. The AIM Rebecca Gregory Scholarship acknowledges the passing of a former AIM employee — Rebecca Gregory, and is a tribute to both her Aboriginal heritage and the continuous support she personally gave to AIM Members during her time at the NSW office of the Australian Institute of Management.
